People-Friendly Mascot Selected Through National Competition on MyGov
New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a resident-friendly mascot named Udai to make communication about Aadhaar services simpler and more relatable for the public.
The mascot was chosen from numerous entries received through a national design and naming competition conducted on the MyGov platform, encouraging participation from students, professionals, and designers across India.
Making Aadhaar Communication More Inclusive
According to UIDAI, Udai will serve as a communication companion, helping residents better understand Aadhaar-related services, including:

Updates and authentication

Offline verification

Selective sharing of information
-
New technology adoption
-
Responsible usage of Aadhaar
The mascot aims to make information about Aadhaar easier to understand, more inclusive, and people-friendly.
Winners of the National Competition
UIDAI Chairman Neelkanth Mishra unveiled the mascot and felicitated the winners at a function in Thiruvananthapuram.
The competition received 875 entries from across the country, each providing a unique perspective on what Aadhaar represents.

UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar said the open competition reflects a core principle of Aadhaar – that public participation builds trust and acceptance.
Mishra added that the launch of Udai represents another step in UIDAI’s effort to simplify communication, making Aadhaar services more accessible to over a billion residents of India.
