Hanley Town Hall was illuminated for a festive Christmas carol concert<\/strong>, attracting members of the public, local councillors, and MP Gareth Snell<\/strong>. The event aimed to raise funds for Egret Homes CIC<\/strong>, a non-profit organisation providing housing and support for young people<\/strong> working towards independent living.<\/p>\n

A Community Celebration with Music and Lights<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The event marked the first public celebration at the former town hall since its relaunch<\/strong>. Although the building is not yet fully open to visitors, the concert brought local residents together in a joyful, festive atmosphere<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The songs were accompanied by a live brass band<\/strong>, while the front of the building was illuminated with vibrant blue and green lights<\/strong>, creating a visually striking backdrop.<\/p>\n

    Millie Davis, one of the attendees, shared:
    “It\u2019s wonderful that Stoke-on-Trent has created an event like this. It feels very positive for the community.”<\/em><\/p>\n

    Honouring Memories and Local Heritage<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    For many, Hanley Town Hall holds fond personal memories<\/strong>. Carolyn Davis recalled:
    “I got married here 25 years ago. The building looked beautiful when lit up\u2014it brings back special memories.”<\/em><\/p>\n

    The town hall originally opened as the Queen\u2019s Hotel in 1869<\/strong> and later served as a popular wedding venue<\/strong> until its closure in 2020.<\/p>\n

    Supporting Local Charity: Egret Homes CIC<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    In addition to the festive celebration, the event helped raise funds for Egret Homes CIC<\/strong>, which supports young people in finding safe accommodation and building independent lives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Attendees participated in a raffle<\/strong>, and donations contributed to the charity\u2019s ongoing community work.<\/p>\n

    Future Plans for Hanley Town Hall<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Organiser Simon Edwards, representing Heronceau Properties<\/strong>, explained that the event was an opportunity to engage with the community<\/strong>. He said:
    “We want to hear people\u2019s hopes for the building\u2019s future. It\u2019s important that the plans reflect the community\u2019s needs.”<\/em><\/p>\n

      The free-of-charge Christmas carol event<\/strong> highlighted the spirit of togetherness and giving<\/strong>.
