Pakistan\u2019s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif<\/strong> has stirred fresh controversy with his provocative remarks on India\u2019s history. Speaking in an interview with Samaa TV<\/strong>, Asif claimed that India was \u201cnever truly united\u201d except during the rule of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb<\/strong>, while also warning that the chances of war with India are real<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

His comments came just days after India warned Pakistan<\/strong> to stop backing state-sponsored terrorism<\/strong>, or risk losing its geographical presence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Khawaja Asif\u2019s Remark on Indian History<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the interview, Asif argued:<\/p>\n

\u201cHistory shows India was never one united nation, except briefly under Aurangzeb. Pakistan was created in the name of Allah. At home, we argue and compete, but in a fight with India, we come together.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

However, his claims contradict basic historical facts<\/strong>. Long before the Mughals, India saw political unity under the Maurya Empire (322\u2013185 BCE)<\/strong>, which ruled most of the subcontinent. Later, rulers like Samudragupta<\/strong> and Harshavardhana<\/strong> also brought large regions together.<\/p>\n

Even during the Mughal period, historians note that while Aurangzeb expanded the empire<\/strong>, his reign was marred by continuous wars and rebellions<\/strong>, unlike Akbar\u2019s stable rule<\/strong>, which consolidated unity with relative peace.<\/p>\n

\u2694\ufe0f \u201cChances of War With India Are Real\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Asif also issued a warning about the current tensions between the two nations:<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not want escalation, but the risks of war with India are real. If it comes to war, God willing, we will achieve a better result than before.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This statement follows recent remarks by Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi<\/strong>, who cautioned Pakistan to end support for terrorism<\/strong> or face serious consequences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndia is fully prepared this time. We will not show the restraint we did during Operation Sindoor 1.0. This time, Pakistan will have to think whether it wants to exist geographically,\u201d General Dwivedi warned.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
