In a major step toward promoting sustainable tourism<\/strong> and reducing pollution<\/strong>, Uttarakhand has announced the implementation of a green tax<\/strong> on vehicles entering the state. The tax will range from \u20b920 to \u20b980<\/strong>, depending on the type of vehicle, and will apply to both private<\/strong> and commercial vehicles<\/strong> from outside the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Who Pays the Tax?<\/strong>\n
      \n
    • All non-local vehicles<\/strong> entering Uttarakhand, including three-wheelers, four-wheelers, medium, and heavy vehicles, will be subject to the tax.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Exemptions:<\/strong>\n
        \n
      • Electric Vehicles (EVs), two-wheelers<\/strong>, and CNG-powered vehicles<\/strong> are exempt from the tax.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Vehicles registered within Uttarakhand and those providing essential services<\/strong> like ambulances, fire trucks, and emergency vehicles are also excluded.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
